DODGE Manufacturing Company was founded in April 1880 with Mr. Wallace H. Dodge manufacturing wood and metal products. A year later, Dodge received a patent for a split pulley of its own design. The first hundreds of products were a significant impetus to stimulate the improvement of the designs and production processes of transmission systems.

In 1914, the DODGE Sales & Engineering Company was organized. The main activity of the company was the sale and distribution of products of the DODGE Manufacturing Company. However, later in 1923 the two companies were merged under the name DODGE Manufacturing Company.

In 1967, DODGE Manufacturing Company merged with Reliance Electric. Later, Reeves and Master were acquired, two of the then leaders in the production of mechanical transmissions. The production capacities of the companies were a powerful base for the development of the DODGE brand of transmission products.

DODGE currently owns nine bearing factories located throughout the United States. Dodge's production includes the production of ball and roller bearings, incl. case assembled with the case and in the form of independent parts for use in industrial and processing equipment, as well as hydrodynamic bearing units, couplings, gearboxes.

The company's Marion plant was named one of the Top 10 Plants in North America in 2004 by IndustryWeek, an authoritative American weekly. Prior to this, the award was given in 1992 to Timken's Tapered Roller Bearing Plant. The plant produces spherical and tapered roller bearings, with an internal diameter of 30-127 mm, which are used in the mining, pulp and paper and food industries.
